HomepageBigImageFrom the 29th February all ergo’s will be able to record every stroke, with an ErgStick and our App. Hence why we wanted to write about the app as it plays an integral part to the life of the stick.

Nearly a thousand people have downloaded the ErgStick App for PM5, from the 29th the app will work with the ErgStick, this means you’ll be getting super powers on every ergo.

What does the app do?

Simply put, it records every stroke. Many question the need for so much data, and it is in this granular detail that we feel you need to record the data. You may remember when you blew or stepped on in your last test, but how much detail does the screen actually give you to review your session? Not much considering what you’ve done.

The core features of the ErgStick App.

1. Rowing
2. Review
3. Graphs

Rowing

When you are rowing the app will display what you see on the screen of your PM monitor which is the split, rate, time, interval, HR, ave. split etc. But now you will get additional information that you never had before. These are: Drive Length, Drive Ratio, Stroke Power, Ave. Force, Peak Force, Drive Time, Drive Speed, Drag Factor.

You don’t have to have the screen in front of you, you can place it in your pocket or leave it on the floor. The data will still be flowing into it.

Post Session Review

Now that all that data has been captured, you can review more than you ever could.

The Summary Screen

Each session you complete will have a summary screen of your session which will show you what you did. This should look exactly like your monitor’s memory.

Let’s look at some numbers

You can look in deeper detail how you paced the session via our analysis screen. By selecting the green or red box on the summary screen you’ll be taken to a screen where you can view your pacing via no. strokes, distance or time. Now you can adjust your split lengths and see where you made that killer move on your 2k. If you’ve upgraded to Pro you can export a CSV of your whole session.

Deeper analysis with ErgStick

It’s not all about numbers

Turn your screen to landscape mode in either the summary screen or the analysis screen you’ll see the graph of your session. Graph 1 shows you the granular detail of your session. For each stroke you’ll be able to see your pace, rate and hr all graphed out together. Graph 2 is each force curve recorded for that session, this is a Pro-feature.

Coming in the future

During our Kickstarter campaign we showed you the ability to set the screen from the phone, in the current version of the app we haven’t included this feature but rest assured it’s coming!
